BOOK COVER DESIGN

First, let us tell you why we are different.

We don’t start a Book Cover design project until we know who the book was written for. Sometimes clients will say “Oh, it’s for everybody!” But we find that isn’t effective. What is effective is getting into the heads of your true audience, and design a visual message that makes them unable to pass it by. We do this with our true-to-your-brand approach by utilizing Specialization, Discovery, our Brand Messaging Guide, our Inspiration Board, organized Deliverables and a great Presentation.

Whether you are creating an e-book, paperback, hardcover, audible or all of the above - creating credibility with a well-thought-out design that will attract your target audience is critical. We like to think of our book designs as the “movie posters” for the next blockbuster. Our designs are always geared toward having a long shelf life (even if the shelf is digital!)

How it Works.

We start with discovery.

You fill out a Book Discovery Questionnaire so we can learn all about YOU - your goals, your journey, what lights you up, what keeps you up at night, where you are going with your company… and of course, why you wrote the book!

  • We follow that up with a 30-minute call to review.

We create a road map.

Using what we learned in Discovery, we create a road map (or Brand Messaging Guide) to define the who/what/why of your book audience in detail by clearly outlining:

  • Your Storyhow did you get here?

  • Goals and Challengeswhat did you have to overcome? what are your goals for your book?

  • Target Audience – who do you want to attract (and NOT attract) with this book?

  • Competitive Landscape – what books are you competing with?

  • Niche Market – why are you better?

  • Persona – what is your tone, your voice, your vibe?

  • Brand Purpose – why did you write this book?

  • Brand Positioning Statementyour book and who it serves, in a nutshell.

  • We review the Brand Messaging Guide during a 30-minute call and make adjustments as needed.

  • The final Brand Messaging Guide is provided as a pdf.

We get inspired.

With our Brand Messaging Guide by our side, it is time to get inspired. Now that you know who you want to attract with your book – we dive in to some eye-candy with our to discover what styles/colors/fonts and moods will best emulate your book’s voice.

  • We review the Inspiration Board on a 30-minute call and make adjustments as needed.

  • The final Inspiration Board is presented for approval.

We design and build your book cover.

After approval of the Inspiration Board, we pick a direction and…

  • We go to work on your book cover and present 2-3 concepts.

  • We review the concepts on 30-minute call and make adjustments as needed.

We deliver.

Final project delivery includes the book cover, in print-ready format (front, back and spine) and one book mock up to be used for promotion.

Social media graphics can be provided for book launch for an additional fee.
